Reif Visual Arts
Gallery Description
Welcome
to the Myles Reif Performing Arts Center! The Reif Center,
which is owned by Independent School District #318, adjoins the Grand
Rapids High School. Housing a 645 seat auditorium, the Reif stage
plays host to a wide variety of local and visiting performers each year.
Immediately inside the series of glass doors shown here is a spacious
lobby which also functions as the Reif Center's visual arts gallery.
Monthly exhibits featuring the work of professional artists as well as
area school student work are shown on a rotating basis. With
the high level of concert and theater traffic that the Reif receives,
visual artists who show here can be assured their work will be viewed by
a large and diverse audience.

The gallery space at the Reif Center is largely comprised of three
angled walls on the entry level of the building, and two walls in the
upper part of the lobby. The first wall (pictured here) has 16' of
Walker Display System.

The main exhibition wall is 53 1/2' long and 6'4" tall. It
typically accommodates about 12-14 pieces of two dimensional artwork,
but of course, this varies according to the size of the work. The
Walker Display System gives great flexibility to space art as needed.

The third wall of the lower lobby
section has 16' of Walker Display System

Available to artists of three dimensional work are six display
cases. They are comprised of a pedestal base which stands two feet
off of the floor, and is topped with an acrylic box. Four of the
cases are 23" x 35", three of those have 24" of display height, one has
14" of display height. There are two cases that are 23" x 23" with
24" of display height. We also have available a number of
clear acrylic stands, small boxes and miniature easels for a variety of
display options.

In the lower lobby is this display case which is available for a
variety of two or three dimensional art. Occasionally the top of
this case will be used by events to display and sell merchandise or to
provide refreshments.
