From the Artist
The fundamental aspect in my work is nature. It is utilized
in my prints by creating a story with the objects I use. What I am influenced by are
found objects. In my artwork I am trying to create my own language with these
elements and processes. I feel a print doesn't necessarily have to be flat;
therefore I try to make my prints sculptural. When doing this I am interested in
seeing how far I can push the idea of a print. The surface texture or color, that I
use is integral to the piece. The significance of color, texture or subject matter
is an item that can either make or break a piece. I may have a certain object or
idea in mind, but that is as far as it goes in my preparation and control of the print.
Therefore, what I do is emphasizing the essential elements of the subject matter.
