From the Artist
In my youth I studied with several teachers
at the Grand Marais Art Colony. I was also guided by several instructor/painters at
North Hennepin Community College where I received my Associates Degree in Graphic Arts.
I continue to learn and grow as a painter by continuing to paint.
When Painting, I allow the idea to transform
itself. It's rare for me to paint with a clear understanding of the finished
product, this allows me to relax into the art. I hope to paint the
emotional/spiritual side of the landscape, which is more important to me than reproducing
the visual reality.
In the process of the painting I am immersed
in the part of myself that is free. When I allow the work to come forward and do not
control it with thinking, then I am successful.
...and color, I let that aspect of the work
do its own magic.
With Gratitude
