Deborah (Deb) Scott
Deb Scott from Duluth, MN,
is featured in the Reif Center galleries this month. Originally from Litchfield,
Minnesota, she moved to Duluth when she was 14 and has remained there ever since.
Deb has a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in
French, and a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree in studio art from the University of
Minnesota. Her work has been published in the Wolf Head Quarterly, and shown in the
Celebrate Women in the Arts exhibit in the Tweed Museum of Art at the University of
Minnesota - Duluth. She also sells her work to private collectors.
She has two children, Aaron, age five, and
Zachary, age 2 1/2. Deb also lives with three elderly cats; Spot, Reet, and Andre.
When not working, and/or parenting, and/or
creating art, she is engaged in the process of transforming her garden into a
miniature
Giverny.
Artist Statement
To me, photography is about light and
shadows, and how these opposing forces interact, at times subtly, at times not.
I see my work as visual poetry. I am
drawn to images that have been transformed by light; images that are beautiful, and/or
disturbing.
