his brother Tommy Dorsey of the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra.
An extremely successful act, the orchestra featured many of

You, and Maria Elena; all great songs, and hits of the

Since 1973,
San Jose Taiko (SJT) has mesmerized audiences with powerful
drumming. Performers express the beauty and harmony of the
human spirit through the voice of the taiko.
With its
roots in the folk tradition of Japan, taiko has served many
purposes. Priests used taiko to chase evil spirits and
insects from the rice fields; Samurai used taiko to bolster
courage and instill fear in the enemy; villagers used taiko
to pray for rain, to enliven festivals, and to give thanks
for bountiful harvests.
With the
power and beauty of taiko at its center, SJT aims to
transcend cultural boundaries and to foster greater
understanding of Japanese American culture. |

From the
blast of the first trumpet to the last hot spotlight, it’s
little wonder why GYPSY reigns as one of the greatest
Broadway musicals of the 20th century. The big, brassy,
funny and unforgettable show —with music by Jule Styne,
lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Arthur Laurents —
packs a powerful wallop. GYPSY serves up one popular
standard after another including Everything’s Coming Up
Roses, You Gotta Have a Gimmick, and Let Me Entertain You.
Broadway musicals don’t get much better than this.
