James “Jimmy” Dorsey was a prominent jazz clarinetist, saxophonist, trumpeter and Big Band leader.

Jimmy Dorsey rose to fame in the 1930’s as co-leader with his brother Tommy Dorsey of the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra. An extremely successful act, the orchestra featured many of the big names of the swing era.
