In Deconstructing The Music LIVE: Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon, Scott Freiman, host of the Public Television series Deconstructing the Beatles, celebrates Pink Floyd’s groundbreaking 1973 album with his first non-Beatles “deconstruction.” Scott will take you on a track-by-track journey through this Pink Floyd masterpiece, explaining the inspiration for the songs and their evolution in the studio.
Dark Side of the Moon is a concept album that explores themes of life, death, time, and the human experience. The album features nine tracks that seamlessly flow into each other, creating a cohesive and immersive listening experience. Musically, the album pushed the boundaries of rock music, incorporating elements of jazz, classical, and experimental music. The use of innovative studio techniques, such as the incorporation of spoken word samples and sound effects, further added to the album’s sonic depth and complexity. Dark Side’s seamless transitions between tracks and use of recurring musical themes created a cohesive and immersive listening experience that has solidified its place as one of the most iconic and influential albums in the history of music.
Using rare audio and video clips, as well as anecdotes about the creation of the songs, Deconstructing The Dark Side of the Moon explores the groundbreaking production techniques that went into producing this landmark piece of music history. About Scott Freiman
Scott Freiman is a composer, a musician, and a software entrepreneur. He is the creator of Deconstructing The Music, a series of multimedia presentations about the composition and production techniques of The Beatles and other musicians. Scott has presented his lectures to sold out audiences throughout North America at theaters, museums and corporations, such as Pixar, Google, and Facebook. Scott has also lectured at colleges and universities and has taught a 13-part course at Yale University entitled “The Beatles in The Studio.” He co-hosts the monthly Fab Four Master Class with fellow musicologist Kenneth Womack with whom he leads occasional Beatles-themed trips to Liverpool and London. He is the co-author (with Kenneth Womack) of The Beatles’ Touring Era: Inside the Fab Four’s Musical Artistry, Song by Song, 1962-1966, coming from Bloomsbury press in September 2026.
Scott is featured in eleven Deconstructing the Beatles films currently showing in theatres and available on DVD and streaming. Season two of his PBS TV series, Deconstructing the Beatles, can be seen on most PBS stations and the PBS Passport app.

There are no refunds or exchanges. If you are unable to use your tickets, they may be returned to the Box Office in exchange for a charitable donation receipt. If an event is cancelled due to weather, tickets will be reimbursed or can be exchanged for another performance. Performances will not be cancelled as long as performers are able to make it.
While exchanges are not allowed between different events, in the instance of a multi-day set for the same event (for example, our 3-day Nutcracker performance) a patron can exchange tickets to a different day by paying a $5.00 per order exchange fee.

• The taking of unauthorized video or photos is prohibited unless announced otherwise from the stage before each event
• Outside food and beverage is not permitted into our facility, however, food purchased at the Lakewood Café may be brought into our theaters
• For assigned seating events, please do not relocate to other seats in the auditorium unless instructed by an usher or Reif employee
• All patrons require a ticket, regardless of age (includes lap children)
