Reif Dance is northern Minnesota’s premiere dance program, we offer quality instruction for both the aspiring and recreational student. Since 1989, we’ve encouraged people of all ages to study the art of dance in a positive environment led by professional faculty. Students grow personally, artistically and physically. A spirit of community is created as older students learn to mentor and encourage younger participants. Creating life-long skills and friendships.
Classes
Reif Dance offers classes for students of all ages. Styles include ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, tap, hip-hop, and improvisation. Reif Dance focuses on technical training through hard work, commitment, and creativity – all the skills necessary for a future in dance, theater, or any other field.

Tuition is based on the number of class periods a student dances each week, and our costs are very competitive.
If cost is an issue, the Reif Center offers full and partial scholarships on a rolling basis.
Youth Scholarship Application Reif Dance provides need-based scholarships to students thanks to generous individuals and support from the Reif Arts Education Fund. More info about this can be picked up at The Reif or download the Reif Dance Scholarship application here.

ROYAL DANCE CAMP Wondrous Waves
Back by popular demand! A week-long day camp for every young prince or princess. For students entering grades PreK-1. This half-day camp features theme-based classes and will focus on ballet inspired creative movement, imaginationbased learning, and arts and crafts. Dancers will perform a small, informal dance demonstration on the last day of the camp to showcase all that they have learned.
MONDAY-FRIDAY: August 17 – 21, 2026
Choose from the following class times:
9:00am-11:00am or 2:00pm-4:00pm

SUMMER INTENSIVE
This two-week dance intensive for students, grades 2 and up, will encompass a plethora of dance styles, including ballet technique, jazz, and hip hop. The focus of the intensive is to build well-rounded dancers in multiple genres and to cultivate an awareness for dance and physical wellness. This focus, with a strong foundation in classical ballet technique, will concurrently study cross-training activities, like Pilates, to assist in the maintenance of a dancer’s top physical and mental shape. In addition, dancers will be led in exercises to promote healthy habits to sustain the longevity of their abilities. Dancers will have the opportunity to try different genres of dance and will be given the freedom to explore the creative world of choreography.

Beginner (grades 2-5) | 12:30pm-2:30pm
Intermediate (grades 5-7) | 9:00am-12:00pm
Advanced (grades 8 &up) | 9:00am-3:00pm

How to Sew & Wear Your Pointe Shoes
Studios
We are dedicated to maintaining a safe, exciting, and engaging environment where students can learn and explore the art of dance. Our three beautiful, sprung-floor studios are designed to help prevent injury. Our location within the Reif Performing Arts Center gives students access to two state-of-the-art stages on which to perform.
Another perk of being affiliated with the Reif Center is the opportunity to work with the nationally touring artists that come to perform in Grand Rapids. Reif Dance students often receive discounted tickets to see dance performances in addition to attending Master Classes with visiting artists.
