Enjoy some of the greatest dance talent in the region, as our Reif Dance Company takes the stage in their annual Company Show. Showcasing their diverse dance talents, this year’s performance highlights include Four Little Swans (excerpt from Swan Lake), a jazz/tap combination piece entitled Bosanova, choreography by Minnesota-famed dancer, James Sewell and a special performance by members of his Company!
Perhaps the most popular segment of the Company Show is the Dancing with Our Stars competition, in which Reif students pair up with a local celebrity and vie for dancing distinction. This beloved tradition, now in its fifth year, set in motion the dance careers of such notable community members as Jim Hoolihan, Shawn Gillen, Joe Silko, Dale Gunderson, Scott Shrimpton and more. Last year’s winner was none other than Itasca County Sherriff, Vic Williams (partnered with Ingrid Dehler-Seter), who amused audiences with an energetic dance to “Mr. Pinstripe Suit” by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. This year’s celebrities include Grand Rapids Police Chief, Jim Denny (Ingrid Dehler-Seter), Michael Thursby of the GRHS Bands (Erin Arntson), Jim Cagle of A1 Driver’s Training (Jenna Naymst), and Nathan Bergstedt of the Herald Review (Kasia Koller). Who will win? In the end, it’s up to the audience, so join us and vote for your favorite competitor!
Last year’s winner: Sheriff Victor Williams
