Join us for an afternoon of live music, community, and celebration as we honor four families whose musical traditions have left a lasting mark on Grand Rapids: the LaPlant, Miltich, Downing, and Aultman families.

Whether you’re a lifelong musician, an occasional picker, or simply someone who loves great music and local history, you’re invited to be part of this special gathering. Bring your instrument and join the open jam sessions or sit back and enjoy an afternoon filled with music, storytelling, and community spirit.

Hosted by Kari Hedlund of KAXE, the event will also feature displays of historical family photographs and two ceremonial toasts at 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM celebrating the enduring contributions of these remarkable families to the cultural life of Grand Rapids.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Rapids Brewing Company throughout the event.

This is a celebration of legacy, friendship, and the power of music to bring people together across generations. Everyone is welcome! Admission is free.
